DLF Foundation, in association with Jaago Teens, organised an interactive workshop on the awareness of the safe and responsible use of the Internet. The Workshop covered the different kinds of Cyber-crimes, Cyberbullying, privacy of personal information, plagiarism and other sensitive issues related to the Internet. The Cyber cell of Gurgaon Police has received 759 complaints this year, wherein 248 were related to Net Banking fraud while Facebook-related complaints were in second place with 72 cases. There were 7 complaints of sexual harassment and pornography. Other complaints were about email hacking, defamatory and offensive email, phishing and anonymous mails, Twitter-related complaints, website hacking, fake websites, lottery fraud, and cheating through iIternet and mobile phones. A survey conducted by Jaago Teens discovered that 47 % of children think that it is very easy to delete information even after it is posted on the Internet; only 6% of the students think that this is impossible to do. So they are comfortable with the thought that even if they post something (bad) today, they can remove it tomorrow. However, close to 90% said they wished to receive safety updates. This indicates that students understand the need for safe Internet usage and the importance of knowing more on the subject.
