About us

The Genesis of Friday Gurgaon

The passion for the project and business of a newspaper stems from two basic premises.

First, that a well-read person is a big positive by himself/herself; and more importantly as a member of society, as a citizen. Reading opens our mind and heart to the opinions and feelings of others; apart from of course informing and educating us. And we are not talking of any particular reading, or some "serious" reading only.

Second, a newspaper specifically provides a wonderful opportunity to represent as well as influence fellow society members for the common good-to think and act more responsibly, and especially, with greater care towards one another, other living beings, and nature. Most citizens are part of a "silent majority" - and should find a voice.

Arap Media Ventures Pvt. Ltd. is a media company that has been promoted by Atul Sobti; with support from a few like minded professionals.

Friday Gurgaon is published once a week. And it is complemented by a website.

Friday Gurgaon hopes to keep hope, and some fine traditions alive by being credible and relevant. News, after all, is a public trust. We inform, analyse, interpret, investigate, educate, and guide - but equally importantly, we like to build agendas, to add value, to urge action.

Keeping in step with young, modern India, Friday Gurgaon aims to find answers, and be a part of the solution -not just throw up questions, and just be a part of the problem. We must build hope, not cynicism - even, and especially when, confronted with negative news. We definitely would like to present both, or all, sides - as well as our corroboration.

At Friday Gurgaon we believe our readers want us to go beyond the headlines. We want that our readers should read... feel... ponder... act.

Friday Gurgaon is a quality paper, with quality imported newsprint, and an all-colour presentation. You will find news, reviews, features, columns, syndications-across a variety of topics, and across Gurgaon 360. These are informative, insightful, serious, funny and very visual, very participative-especially when integrated with the website.

Friday Gurgaon has a team of over 20 fresh and experienced employees-across editorial, desk, design, production, distribution and business functions.
