Ryan International School, Sector-40 organised a workshop on Child Development. Dr. Manish Manan, Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist at Paras Hospital, emphasised that a child’s growth is a continuous process. A child that is well handled, nurtured and loved will develop trust and security. He also discussed the various problems in child development - like aggressive behaviour, depression and bullying, which are very common these days. He added that it is important to realise and find the underlying reason for any abnormal behaviour of a child or his/her inadequate performance in school. A child’s development is dependent on genetics, parents, schools, teachers, doctor, friends, the social environment and nutrition, he stated.
For a better tomorrow
Ryan International School, Sector 40 hosted children from Kanhai Village. The Ryanites of Class V exposed them to the nuances of computers. The boys and girls from Kanhai also attended a workshop on ‘Good touch, Bad touch’, taken by the School Counsellor. School Head Ms. Peeya Sharma encouraged Ryanites to follow Chairman Dr.Augustine F. Pinto’s vision of guiding the underprivileged to economic empowerment - to ensure that they have a better tomorrow.
A Hearty Health
Ryan International School, Sector 40 celebrated World Heart Day with the help of an informative Radio Jockey Show, which was conducted by the students of Class III A. The theme was: ‘Heart Healthy Environment’. The importance of eating healthy food (and avoiding junk food), and doing daily exercises, was stressed. School Head Ms. Peeya Sharma reminded all the students that ‘Health is (indeed) Wealth’.
They have a way with words
Ryan International School, Sector 40 participated in the 9th Delhi State Scrabble Championship 2014 and claimed many medals and laurels. The Ryanites from Class V took part in the 8-11 years category and won 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals. Divyanshu Sahu did the School proud by winning all his 5 rounds and won a Gold medal. Dhritee Gandotra won a Silver medal and Mimansa, Mourvin Prajapati, Aditya and Justin Jacob won Bronze medals.
American Montessori Public School
Obeying Traffic Rules
The students of Montessori I to IV of American Montessori Public School were taken to the Traffic Park at the Air Force Public School and familiarised with the various traffic and safety rules - such as a pedestrian crossing, traffic signal and a railway crossing.
Serving it up
The students from Class II, American Montessori Public School, participated in a tennis tournament held at the Base Tennis Academy. Aarunya Prakash won the Bronze medal in the Boys, 6-8 years category.
Bringing Gandhiji alive
Gandhi Jayanti is a National festival of India. Ryan Global School organised a Special Assembly, with the theme of ‘Truth and Non-Violence’ - these being the strongest weapons of Mahatma Gandhi. The life of Gandhiji was showcased through Dance, Skit, and Declamation performances. The Assembly concluded with a Dance performance on Gandhiji’s favourite song, ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’.
MRIS shines at Indian Robotics Olympiad
2 teams of MRIS 46 bagged the First position at the National level of the Indian Robotics Olympiad, in their respective categories. The teams, comprising Rohan Verma, Franshu Yadav & Jayant Sharma (Elementary Regular Category) and Dhruv Wadhva & Atreyu Balasundaram (Junior High Open Category), have qualified for the World Robotics Olympiad, to be held in Russia in November.
Cleanliness begins at home
Paying homage to one of Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite tenets, ‘Cleanliness is next to godliness’, the Global Ryanites, under the guidance of the School’s Chairman Dr. Augustine F. Pinto - a firm believer of keeping the environment clean and green - contributed to the ‘Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya’ campaign by undertaking a cleanliness drive of the School premises.
Elders celebrated
Ryan International School, Sohna Road celebrated Grand Parents Day on October 1, 2014 with fun and fervour. The Ryanites from Montessori & Primary showcased nostalgic dances and enactments of classic poems. They welcomed the grand parents in different regional languages. The students exhibited their joys through Jashn-e-Qawali and Hasye-Kavi Gaan. The dignitaries from Gharonda also joined in to celebrate the auspicious day. The Principal, Ms. Rashmi Prakash highlighted the importance of family values and traditions in today’s life and inspired the students to carry forward the valuable legacy of our elders.
