Building a Cultural Bridge
Studying abroad can change students’ lives, immerse them in new languages and cultures and allow them to investigate further academic passions. Pathways School, Gurgaon welcomed a group of 13 Korean students, with their 2 teachers, as a part of an exchange program. The School music teacher gave a wonderful rendition of ‘Raag Bhog’, which captured the essence of Hindustani classical music. The Korean students started with a fun-filled traditional dance. One of the students displayed ‘Hanbok’, a traditional dress worn by Koreans, and demonstrated how it is worn. The Korean students also presented techniques from Taekwondo, a Korean national sport, followed by a group dance performance. Coincidentally, South Korea also attained independence on 15th August. The assembly began with the school director, Capt. Rohit Bajaj hoisted the Tricolour, which was followed by the singing of the national anthem; thereafter, a South Korean teacher hoisted the South Korean flag and their national anthem was sung.

Pupil teachers took the classes and performed their duties in a disciplined and enthusiastic manner. The entire school, the students and staff, watched the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s inspiring address, and his interactions with students.
