How can you vote for a Party that:

Changed a winning leader, then ignored local leaders, and finally brought in an ‘outsider’ at the last minute

Kept delaying elections, trying to ‘time’ them

Did not think it worthwhile to set out its agenda/manifesto till the last minute

Is seen as the ‘incumbent’ (and is rightly facing anti-incumbency)

Did no work for almost a year

Took no citizen friendly decisions (esp. on food prices, water and power)?

Versus a Party that:

Was back on the ‘field’ within a few months of resigning

Took feedback from all sections of society

Stands for genuine change in politics and governance.

AAP and Mohalla Governance definitely deserve a 5-year rule.

FG Editorial has been calling BJP’s attention for months now.

Issue of Sep. 19 to 25, 2014: It’s shocking how action on food prices has been, and is still being, ignored. 100 days – even 30 days – was enough to do something on this. Why cannot the BJP CMs act on this? Were/are they waiting for Modi for any local action also?

Issue of Oct. 3 to 9, 2014: In States where it rules (including Delhi, in a manner), what has the BJP done at ground level in the last 4 months? Has any different local action been taken on food prices, corruption, civic issues or security? That is what people will vote for during the Assembly elections, and the absence of action on these fronts will slowly lead to disillusionment with the BJP. Why couldn’t Delhi be the showpiece for change – right under the nose of the Central govt.? If AAP could start multiple initiatives in 49 days, why couldn’t the BJP (in hundreds of days)?

Issue of Dec. 5 to 11, 2014: The irony today is that the citizens’ aam expectations have been transferred to the BJP, courtesy their great expectations from Modiji. They are now looking for AAP delivery from the BJP! However, central schemes, even those blessed by Modiji, cannot really provide them deliverance; the focus has to shift to local. Current and future CMs must learn to govern as Modi in Gujarat, or then take a leaf out of AAP (minus the resignation of course). However, the home truth is that the BJP cannot ever deliver like AAP, because it does not even think anything like that. In fact even BJP in the rest of India cannot deliver like Modi in Gujarat.

Issue of Jan. 9 to 15, 2015: Some may have left the bandwagon, but AAP politics is even more relevant now – especially at the local level. Modi and BJP have made scarce difference at any local level, even in BJP-ruled States.  Let the Capital city folk set in motion an aam aadmi oriented local (City and State) politics and governance in the country.
