The demand for a foot over-bridge at the HUDA City Centre Metro station is gaining traction. Over a lakh commuters daily have to cross the road(s) below, amidst traffic jams, putting their lives constantly at risk. During a recent initiative of NASSCOM, Haryana, driven by IT company Nagarro in the Millennium City, almost a thousand commuters stopped and signed a petition for the installation of an over-bridge. This petition would be presented to the government, demanding that an over-bridge should be immediately built, to connect the HUDA station to the Fortis Hospital entry area. Manas Fuloria, CEO of Nagarro, told Friday Gurgaon that this initiative is part of a campaign to ensure safety on the roads for pedestrians. During the two hours signature drive, volunteers from different companies requested impacted commuters, and other citizens too, to join the campaign. Prabhat Agarwal, a former IT CEO, and now a social activist, who was present during the drive, said that the goal is to collect 5,000 signatures during the weeklong drive and then present the petition to the local administration. Kailash, a volunteer at the drive, said that it is important for the government to take early action on this issue, as it impacts a large number of office goers.
