The clock tower at the top of the Abraj Al Bait Towers in Mecca will be open to visitors after the Hajj pilgrimage, according to the tourism portal eturbonews.com. The complex, which is made up of seven individual buildings, is located near Kaaba, also known as the Sacred House, the most sacred location in Islam. The Mecca Royal Clock Tower features a clock with a diameter of 39 metres, and is 601 metres tall, making it the third-largest building in the world. Officials will not release information about the start and the conditions of ticket sales until after the end of the pilgrimage, which takes place this year between the end of September and middle of October.
