I wish FG hearty congratulations on its Third Anniversary.
To give expression to my thoughts on this day here is a poem that I have composed specially for this occasion.
Congratulations and 'Three Cheers' as you say
May many more years of success come your way!
For Three years this weekly
Has covered all aspects of Gurgaon
Its plus points and shortcomings
That make this millennium town.
It started as a builders' paradise
With sanctioning of many a high rise
But it was FG that brought about
Who was going to pay the price.
With water beds depleting and power running short
All kind of illegal things people started to resort
No public conveyance, auto drivers making hay
It was FG that told the authorities what was the right way.
The column 'The Week That Was' gave citizens local news
There was ample space devoted to them to give their views
There were tips on health, life after death and guide to spiritual path
The 'Kids Corner' shows how the kids are growing on learning path.
For poetry you had a special place in the tabloid
Besides the English compositions that were in a way classic
You even encouraged the Hindi ones written in 'Roman'
Even though they were very basic.
Every week you took the readers to some place around the world
There are snippets and news items that are rarely heard
Your editorials are hard hitting and bold
You do not mince words in things that need to be told.
Last but not the least, a word about last page
The Illustrator captures the subject with imagination & no mistake
There is something for everyone to read throughout the week
How you do it without commercials leaves no (more) words to speak!
