Friday Gurgaon has touched another milestone in its short life. Since inception we have focused on the developments in and around Gurgaon, as well as its people, infrastructure and administration. It is never an easy task to satisfy everyone’s expectations. However, we believe that we have made every effort to bring to our readers various aspects of civic and social life here, the society and its culture – which often may be questioned, but should never be ignored. On our third anniversary we spoke to a cross section of our esteemed readers. Their impressions are views are extremely valuable as we go forward on our journey of bringing an even more wider and deeper coverage on all that matters to Gurgaon residents. Dr. Praveen Kumar, who till recently was the MCG Commissioner (and earlier HIUDA Administrator), says: “FG makes very good reading. It covers a wide variety of subjects and its coverage of the Gurgaon area is realistic, and it is definitely unbiased in its reports. I have been interviewed many times by FG, both in my capacity as Commissioner and Administrator, and I must say that the tabloid has always faithfully represented my views, unlike other newspapers and periodicals where my views have often been found to be distorted.” Rishika Seth, a resident of Gurgaon residing near Galleria Market, says: “FG has a fresh approach and is quite different from other publications. It definitely understands the youth psyche and the information published is very contemporary. It keeps young people like us updated about the latest in entertainment, fashion, new arrivals and new development at the malls and other forms of entertainment like cinema, theatre and cultural events in the City. It’s fun reading FG. Sri Vidya, resident of Gurgaon, says: “I find FG very interesting. Apart from offering the latest in happenings in the city and entertainment, the publication has a strong understanding of the current affairs and politics, which are of special interest to me. Bimal Mohanty says, “I am an ardent follower of FG. The content is good. It manages to capture the spirit of the different news items and retains its contemporary nature, despite being a weekly publication. One does not get the impression that one is reading something old and oft repeated. FG should retain its identity."
